This valley will remind you of an amphitheatre surrounded by mountains, which ends in the Mediterranean Sea. Here among this splendid garden of overwhelming beauty you will take a break above a small lake. You will spend the night at the farm of Emilia in the little town of Garriguella. Emilia is well known for her delicious Mediterranean cuisine.

The horses play with the waves and you try not to get too wet. At the end of the bay, directly on the beach, is your hotel where you will spend the night. For dinner the landlady will prepare Spanish tapas and delicious paella or fish. However, depending on the season you might stay overnight in a beautiful mill dating back to the 16th century.

7th: Mas Alba

Surrounded by deep pine forests and along peaceful farm village paths, you will ride through the hilly landscape of the Emporda region. Quietness surrounds you as you ride through the narrow streets of the Catalan natural stone villages, hearing only the sound of the horses' hooves.

Mas Alba is a typical Catalan natural stone house dating from the 16th century. Since then this wonderful farm has been run by the same family. From here you overlook green meadows, forests and horse pastures. What a beautiful place to end your exciting horse riding holiday with a wonderful farewell dinner.

3 Horseshoes Intermediate Rider: safe on a well trained horse at all paces - including a long rising trot and canter. Equestrian experience also in open country. Fitness and experience make several hours in the saddle possible.
4 Horseshoes Experienced Rider: Confident and relaxed on horseback, rides regularly and is fit. Has a good seat and soft hands and is capable of handling a spirited horse at canter in open country. May own/share a horse or have previously owned/shared a horse and will be happy with long gallops. Can lead a horse even in difficult terrain.
