I did the "7 Rios"-trail this year and it was amazing! I love the mountains and it was the perfect mix of mountains and water. Even though this time of the year might be a bit dry sometimes, Rudi still managed to find hidden spots for our lunch breaks where he made sure we could refresh in the water. The horses are wonderful, well trained and it is obvious that their wellbeing is super important to Rudi and his team - you can see that not only in how they are being treated, but also in all the little details when it comes to their food and the gear being used for the horses. The accommodations were also wonderful, I especially loved Besalú and Beget. Every day was a special experience with lovely picnics and beautiful views. I can highly recommend this trail!

I won’t forget this week in Catalonia. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Rudi and Paul work so well together and guided us safely through some quite challenging terrain. We had an international group with a very balanced riding level, and there was such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the week. The horses are incredibly sure-footed and climb the mountains almost like mountain goats. Some of the ascents definitely made me work up a sweat, but the views we were rewarded with were worth every single step. The quiet spots by the river were perfect for cooling off in the fresh water. I’m pretty sure I’ll be back!

My favourite day? I honestly couldn’t tell you anymore which one it was. One morning we were high up in the mountains, later we walked a longer downhill section beside the horses, and suddenly we arrived at this beautiful clear river. Shoes off, feet in the water, horses resting in the shade, and then lunch. My horse Merlin would simply stand nearby and enjoy the breaks with us. A huge thank you to Rudi, Paul and Nacho for such a wonderful week and for all the laughs along the way. If it had been up to me, the trail could easily have lasted a few days longer 😉

7 Ríos Trail in three words? Mountains, water, adventure. And maybe picnic as a fourth 😉 At lunchtime, Facundo would be waiting for us in places you could hardly imagine reaching. After all the riding and walking, every meal tasted like a feast. Cooling our feet in the river, the sun on our faces, the horses resting nearby. I could have carried on like that forever. Now I just have to decide which trail to do next 😉

If you are thinking about booking this trip this is your sign to book it! I completed the summit trail and it was truly incredible I am in awe of the strength and fitness of these horses and the beauty of the Pyrenees. Both Rudi and Paul were excellent and so knowledgeable you will be in the best of hands. My only regret is not booking this sooner!
