Trail Route

Day 1: Catalan Country House

Arrival at Barcelona or Girona (Catalonia) and transfer to the wonderfully located and pretty country Hostal Nou, which dates back to the 13th century and is built of natural stone. The rooms are tastefully furnished with views over meadows, forests and the surrounding horse pastures. The unique light transforms the surroundings into a picturesque painting with a great atmosphere. What a wonderful place to start your holiday! While enjoying a delicious dinner we get to know the group and our guide.

Day 2: Catalonian Outback

Our path today leads us through the beautiful Catalonian outback.

Bird calls accompany us as we ride. We arrive at our picnic stop, high up where we have a fantastic view of the mountains and the sea. A tasty lunch is prepared for us under majestic aromatic pine trees.

Refreshed and with new energy we mount up and reach our country hotel in the late afternoon.

Here we have the opportunity to relax in the pool. A wonderful way to recover from the first day on horseback!

Day 3: The Pyrenees' river - "El Fluvia"

Today's morning is dedicated to the River Fluvia, running wildly through the landscape. We follow it towards the Pyrenees and see wonderful flood plains.

We get a real feeling of adventure when we pass through the river! Our horses joyfully lead the way, splashes glittering in the sunlight.

We enjoy a delicious lunch at a spot next to the river.

In the evening, we ride back to our accommodation where another tasteful dinner awaits us.

Day 4: Beautiful Catalonia!

Following the traces of the Middle Ages, we visit the lovely villages that are embedded in the landscape. We pass Iberic castles and Roman churches that remind us of times gone by.

While we ride through the narrow streets, we marvel at the pretty architecture and listen to the mesmerising sound of our horse's hooves on the stones. We discover arches, windows decorated with flowers and noble wooden doors with thick iron mountings.

On a hill we can see a Roman chapel. From here, we have a fantastic view on the surrounding Pyrenees and the loops of the river. We dismount for a picnic and have a siesta.

With renewed energy we enter a soft, hilly landscape where fields and forests border our way back to the country house.

Day 5: The Race Track

We have bonded with our four-legged friends and make a great team. Now it is time for a "real" ride! Who has the fastest horse? Through the forests of the Alt Empordá, we trot and canter to the race track of the neighbouring village.

What a joy! Those who want to can just let their horses run, run, run! The horses stretch their bodies and their hooves whirl through the sand.

After this exciting experience (and a winner, of course), we have lunch at a small, cosy restaurant. Here we fill up with Catalan specialties and get ready for the ride to the home of our four-legged companions.

With a last wonderful dinner, we finish the Catalonia base ride.

Day 6: Hasta la vista!

Time to say goodbye! After breakfast we say goodbye and transfer to Girona or Barcelona. Or maybe you like to continue to a trail?

Character

The Catalonia Centre Based Rides are excellent for trail beginners, less experienced riders and ambitious beginners. This program will even surprise experienced "pleasure riders". Controlled canters, exciting river crossings and last but not least a race at the racecourse (optional) offer exciting and varied riding days (daily 3-4 hours in the saddle).

Transfers & Caterings

Notice

  • First day: on arrival dinner is at approx. 9 p.m.
  • Last day: before departure breakfast is at approx. 9 a.m.
  • Due to local conditions, a route change or amendment may be necessary.
  • The Catalonia Center Based Rides can be ridden in both directions.
  • The tour operator reserves the right to substitute the described accommodations by equivalent if necessary.

Accommodation

Single Room / Double Room / Shared Double Room

Single rooms cannot always be guaranteed though booked. If a previously confirmed single room is not available, the guest is entitled to a refund of the price paid for those nights surcharge.

Single travellers have the option to book a Shared Double Room.

A shared double room can only be booked by solo travellers if a same-gender roommate is available at the time of booking or becomes available before the start of the trail. If this is not the case, we will book a single room for you which will be charged at the standard, published supplement fee.

Our collective transfer is not available for this programme.

All trail itineraries are general guidelines and in order to offer our customers the best riding holiday experience we make occasional changes.

Depending on the number of concurrent trails, the season, the weather and national holidays, we may make alterations to itineraries at short-notice, which could affect the number of riding hours per day, the route we take to any given destination or the use of alternative accommodation. Trails can also be ridden in both directions. All changes are at our discretion but when changes are made, we endeavour to ensure that our high standards of quality are maintained and reflected in the alternatives we choose.

A dream comes true!!! I came with my 14-year-old niece, who was still quite inexperienced riding out in the countryside. She immediately fell in love with “her” horse, Taro, and felt completely safe with him throughout the rides. The horses give you such a wonderful sense of confidence and security. We rode with Nikki, who chose some fantastic routes for us and even included a few lovely canters across the stubble fields! It was a wonderful experience for both of us and one we will always remember. A huge thank you 😘 to Nikki and also to Daniela for the excellent organisation. We will definitely be back! Keep doing what you do and stay exactly as you are. Absolutely brilliant! 🤩

Awesome riding holidays! Heads Up, trail riders! We experienced awesome, unique riding days at Panorama trails with great canter routes, reliable horses and a dedicated tour guide. Beside the tasty picnics we enjoyed a lovely stay at a beautiful hotel with excellent, typical Catalan food. Fantastic holidays only recommended!!!

I booked the Local Star Rides because I wanted to stay in the same place every night. It was a great choice! Every day we discovered a different landscape on horseback. The weather was neither too hot nor too cold and always sunny. I was a bit afraid of the river crossing, but my horse was a pro. He passed the running water without hesitating.

The most exciting part was the last riding day – we went to a horse race track! You can’t imagine how much fun we had! Even though I didn’t win the race, this is one of the best experienced I’ve ever had! 100% recommendable!
