Fresh & Saltwater - Mountain & Sea Trail - July 2017

Had an absolutely fantastic holiday at Panorama Trails. Think about a perfect horse holiday: great, kind-harted great-spirited and amazingly fit horses (rockstars!) which will carry you anywhere: over rocks, rivers and the smallest paths. They are absolutely amazing: beautiful, sweet and looking very happy. Next to this there was the awesome guidance of Nacho who has a exceptional way with horses and a good sense of adventure smile-emoticon:). Not to be forgotten there was the driver Dani who made sure we could enjoy the most perfect lunches at the stops and was always there to help everybody (and pour you some extra cava!) with a big smile. The hotels were small, family owned businesses where we again got amazing, home-cooked dinners. How Panorama Trails runs this all, so perfectly organised, smooth and kind, it is a miracle. I absolutely would recommend their trips to everybody. But be warned: you might end up taking home any of their amazing horses or be spoiled for the re st of your life with the best memory of a horse holiday ever. I know I have. I miss them already smile-emoticon:) Great thanks to Nacho, Dani and Daniela. See you next time!

Bandit Trail - June 2017

First of all I would like to thank the whole organisation team and specially our most perfect and experienced guide Denise as well as our very helpful trail assistant Manel for getting my first trail with Panorama-Trails unforgettable!

This Trail of Bandits was absolutely extraordinary and exciting.

The most beautyful landscape was sensational as well as diversified and we had endless rides in unspoiled nature. On most parts of the trail we had an amazing view to and from the table mountains.

The accommodations have been perfectly selected by Panorama-Trails and are located in peaceful places like small and quite middle age villages, in the country side and/or on place with extraordinary view on the top and at the edge of the table mountains. Most of the accommodations were simple but cosy, clean and offering delicious traditional Catalan dishes – really nothing to complain about!

The horses all were in very well condition, very safe and well behaved. If you decide to ride a trail you should not forget that the horse you will ride is trained to walk in the line and in the herd. Of course you cannot compare with a horse you always ride alone.

The bridles and saddles were well-kept and in perfect condition. My saddle was extremely good and comfortable almost like a sofa. Up-front I was really afraid about riding many hours a day without having that experience but luckily I had really NO problems at all!

My summary… a fabulous trail, professional and really perfect organised, starting with booking till whole realisation of the trail.

For sure I will ride my next trail with Panorama-Trails again as there are several other trails to discover.

See you soon again!

Stefan

Fresh & Saltwater - Mountain & Sea Trail - June 2017

Thank you to Nacho and the incredible Panorama Trails horses for a magical week in the mountains of the Pyrenees on the Fresh and Saltwater Trail. While we thought it would be a fantastic holiday what you delivered was way beyond my expectations: a tenacious, sure-footed, big-hearted, and beautiful Pura Raza Española took me safely up and down steep, winding narrow paths, jumped over rocks as if part-goat, waded through rivers, unhesitatingly took to deep waters to swim with me, clip clopped confidently through alleyways in ancient towns and flew fleet of foot across wild plains. Utter heaven. Nacho was an exceptional guide - his compassion, fun and great recontouring, together with the great hospitality at our hostels and hotels each evening and unbelievable lunches at beautifully set tables that had been conjured into the middle of nowhere by Om made this a holiday of a lifetime. I am already trying to plan another trip. Thank you. Especially to El Bubba!

Unguided Panorama Trail - May 2017

Exploring a foreign country like Catalonia on a horse sounds good. That sounds like adventures, challenges, a lot of nature and a touch of danger. Exactly the right thing to escape the stress of everyday life and let go for a week to unwind and enjoy the nature of the back of a horse.

Together with a friend I ride such self-guided trails for several years and it is always a great experience. Each country has its own beauty and you can not only see it from the back of a horse, but also smell, feel and experience it.

After beautiful self-guided trails in Ireland and Greece (Crete), Catalonia sounded fantastic as a new destination.

However, to really relax while riding, everything must be well prepared and the horses and equipment must be in good condition. This is not always the case, especially in southern countries.

What can I say, we were not disappointed. What Rudi had prepared for us about two weeks ago was first class. The two-hour briefing, the printed maps (only for a rough orientation), the plugged in GPS, the prepared accommodation for rider and horse gave us sufficient security to master the trail.

Finding the way was really child's play thanks to GPS on the wrist. The horses were excellent. They were persistent, hard-working, reliable and very light-footed. My first trail ride without muscle soreness, thanks to my four-legged buddy Rayo (in English: Blitz).
Due to the comfortable saddles, the many hours in the saddle were no problem at all.
The track was well selected and we got to see a lot of Catalonia. The different landscapes and the partly very untouched nature knock one over.

While the first three days are still very easy to ride, it will be much harder for riders and horses in the mountains. Then you have to climb a bit or lead the horses along a very narrow trail along a ravine. Comfortable but strong hiking shoes and a little trust in God are needed. But with the sure-footed and deep-relaxed horses no problem. You will be rewarded with breath-taking panoramic views.

Catalonia is not Spain you always read again and I think there is something in it (even if the Catalans think differently). It is a very special beautiful place with nice people, good food, good wine and so much oxygen in the air that you feel 10 years younger. So much forest and green I would not have expected in Spain.
Most of the accommodations were very comfortable, two more basic but always clean and adequate, with a cosy charm. Shower, free wifi, breakfast, comfortable beds, but were always available. All the people always nice and accommodating, there is nothing to moan about.

Recommendation: In Santa Pau you can eat very nice and comfortable at "Can Rafelic". Link to pictures of the restaurant can be found on Google. The restaurant was closed on the day of our passage but Rudi had kindly arranged a meal for us. Thanks again for Rudi. It was really delicious. As always, you were right.
By the way, food and drink are very cheap in Catalonia.

All in all, one of the most beautiful trails I have ridden so far. Thanks to the good organization and the great horses an absolute relaxation trip I can only recommend.

Greetings from Büren,
